Will Arias is a former footballer whose constant low-back issues and joint complaints overcome his talent to play at professional level at very young age. In 1989, when he decided take charge of his own physical conditioning regime, fellow footballers and other fitness enthusiasts approached him to make an offer “too good to refuse”: Getting paid by designing and delivering training sessions. His new career took off in a time when Personal Training Services were required only by wealthy people and local celebrities .
Simultaneously, the future founder of QTX managed to finish his Bachelor Degree in Social Communication and also Emphasis in Advertising at Javeriana University, in Colombia. Later on, he got some professional recognition as a Copywriter, broadcaster and Corporate image Advisor. However, Will soon realized his passion for fitness and sports was even stronger.
Obviously, compared with today’s standards, Strength & Conditioning was more empirical than scientific, while access to bibliographic references and/or continuing education was also limited. Let alone serious online resources. Back then, in the early 90's, the design of most Training Programs was based on popular bodybuilding protocols where training muscles was more important than training movements. In short, It was a time when Joe Weider's mags and Jane Fonda's videos seemed to be the “unique” recipe available for men and women stepping into any average fitness facility.
Consequently, lots of mistakes were made in the learning process. Today, Will chuckles and shakes his head in disbelief when asked to recapitulate some of his first training programs, included the ones he followed during his playing days, which did little to help his own therapeutic needs.
Fast forward to 2017
Today, 30.000+ training sessions later, Will is in a position to humbly substantiate his training beliefs, influenced by world-renowned specialists in Spine Biomechanics, Physical therapy leaders, Top Strength and Conditioning coaches, holistic and bodywork practitioners, elite athletes and, more importantly, the positive feedback of hundreds of clients.

QTX doesn’t claim miraculous results or never-seen-before features. It is the result of many years of hard work studying, working and practising what we have learnt in class rooms in addition to the face-to-face opportunities of learning wisdoms from some of the best in the Health, Wellness & Fitness Industry in Australia and overseas.
We don't underestimate the value of online sources although -at times- it can be like trying to find little pieces of gold in the middle of the mud. We don't just invest in textbooks but we consult them on a daily basis, not to mention the manuals and papers that we proudly treasure in QTX's library.
As a result, our merit relies on having an open-minded attitude to learn from diverse sources of knowledge. Then, we evaluate, select and organise the best "ingredients" of each of them. There is NO secret. While its not up to us to qualify our talent, we certainly offer plenty of drive, hard work and solid ethics. Then, we blend those pieces of wisdom with our background in Communication and field experience, in order to give life to QTX's own "recipes".
We believe that Education doesn't need to be formal but it needs to be dynamic, interactive and comparative, rather than constricted to the Class Room alone. The current resources available would sound like Science-Fiction only two decades ago. If Time-traveling was possible any proficient Personal Trainer of today and he/she would be considered a visionary back then. Such is the changing nature of Knowledge, which requires continuing adaptation in order to progress.
In another 20 years from now, many of the things that we say today might be considered obsolete. That thought keep us grounded. We aim to keep QTX in the front row and updated. Our ongoing pursuit is learning how to teach the best we can to our dear clients and students.
It has been a long journey since 1989. However, we keep taking each day as if it was the start of our own learning process, while pursuing our unconditional coaching vocation.
