"When most people understand than activation is far more important than exhaustion, then, the risk of injury will decrease dramatically"

"The only thing keeping you from getting what you really want is the story that you keep telling yourself why you don't have it... (yet)"

"What changes people is when your 'should' become a 'MUST'. When suddenly the thing you say 'should happen' has to happen"

"When doing Kettlebell Swings or most assistance exercises for the deadlift movement, think about your eyes as the steering wheel of your body and the lats as the arm of a crane that keeps the resistance (barbell) close to the centre of mass (hip). Establishing a visual point of reference or 'tailored horizon line' helps to secure the bio-mechanics (kinesthetic sense) while recruiting the lats is what maintain the external resistance at the nearest possible distance from the hip (fulcrum). As gravity only operates vertically, both cues 'Maintain visual reference' and 'Engage lats' are pivotal  to optimise both performance and safety".

- Will Arias

"There is not such a thing like a weaker side. If you are working out only your strengths, you might be exacerbating body imbalances. So, train your underused side and maintain the dominant one. The majority of people might have a preferred limb but there is not excuse to stop pursuing even strength. Training balance is exactly the safest way to improve... ahem, your balance. Even when I am advocate of some exercises and progressions on unstable surfaces, there are not for everyone. So, a great way to star improving your balance is by including unilateral movements in your training program!

“Does your current Personal Trainer make you tired or make you better?”

- Will Arias

There is a massive difference between working out and training , you know? A Training Performance is typically a workout where you sweat without purpose, while a Performance Training is where you execute a tailored plan that should help you to adapt to new fitness standards (in conjunction with proper nutrition, rest and lifestyle management). So the question is, does your current Personal Trainer makes you tired or makes you better?

You don't need a Personal Trainer to make you sweat. Anyone can do that. More than a source of motivation, a great Personal Trainer is somebody who should coach you to become better at something, whichever your lifestyle requirements are.

“When working out, most people on the gym floor use numbers as a point of reference to measure our individual progression per each set. Fair enough. However, rather than counting repetition, we should ensure that every repetition counts.”
